Community Champions Video Launch
On May 5, 2021, as a part of CMS’ ongoing COVID response efforts to support the long term care community, we debuted our first social media videos highlighting staff, also referred to as Community Champions, who moved from being initially uncertain about receiving the COVID-19 vaccine to accepting the vaccine-- and encouraging their peers to do the same.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, staff in nursing homes have been providing ongoing care to our nation’s most vulnerable. This social media campaign is intended to help increase vaccine acceptance amongst long-term care staff. Please like and share our Community Champions video by following the links below.

October 31, 2022:
We have 3 additional residents test positive today, the families of these 3 have been notified. We also had 3 additional positive staff over the weekend. We currently have 7 staff at home on quarantine Testing will continue 2 times weekly for all residents and staff regardless of vaccination status for the next 2 weeks. Testing is Tuesdays and Fridays at 9 am. If you are not able to be here those days you may come the day before at 2:30 pm. Thank You.

The results of todays testing was 8 positive residents. Those resident who were confirmed positive family has been notified, and will be quarantined in their room. We also had 3 additional staff test positive. They are at home quarantine. We currently have 4 staff at home quarantine. Testing will remain Tuesday and Fridays for the next 2 weeks at 9:00 am If you are not able to make it you may come the day prior at 2:30 pm. Please make prior arrangements if these dates and times do not work for you.

October 7, 2022 UPDATE: Attention Marian Manor families and staff: Testing from today’s event is with all negative results. For the next week we were able to identify close contacts to our most recent positive cases which involves staff only. No residents were identified and will not be tested. Staff, please check your ECS messages at work to see if you were notified to be tested. If you did not receive an ECS message you do not need to test – this includes exempt staff. Testing events for next week are October 11 and 14 at 9 am. One resident and one staff remain on quarantine

Attention Marian Manor staff and resident family members
We had our COVID testing event and found 1 staff member positive and is currently at home on quarantine. We have also have one staff member and one resident on quarantine. We will continue to test twice weekly for all staff and residents regardless of vaccination status. Next testing event is Tuesday 9/27/22 and Friday 9/30/22 at 9 am , staff may come the day before the scheduled testing event days at 2:30pm if they are unable to make it to the scheduled testing event.

September 2, 2022 Update: We are happy to report that all residents and staff were negative with the testing event today. Next week testing will be On Tuesday at 9:00am if you are working a pm shift on Monday you will get tested during your shift. All other staff need to report on Tuesday at 9:00 to get tested. Testing will be Thursday at 2:30 pm or Friday at 9:00 am unless you have made prior arrangements. We currently have 2 residents on quarantine and No staff. Thank You.

August 23, 2022 Update: Testing today resulted in 1 positive resident. All staff tested negative. We currently have 2 staff at home quarantined. Next 2 weeks we will be testing all residents and staff on Tuesdays and Fridays. You may come the afternoon on Mondays and Thursdays at 2:30 pm or Tuesdays and Fridays at 9:00 am. All staff and residents will be testing regardless of vaccination status.
Visitation may continue however – eye protection and mask are required in order to visit your resident. We ask that you stay home if you are ill and please use hand sanitizer before and after your visits. Large groups of family members visiting at the same time is not recommended at this time unless it is outdoors.

August 16, 2022 Update: We have 2 additional positive staff members who are currently quarantined. No other residents tested positive. The testing for the next 2 weeks will Continue for all staff and residents on Tuesday and Fridays at 9:00 am. Testing for all staff will be in the 400 wing nurses station. Please be advised we are in outbreak status, but visitation remains as prior.
August 15, 2022 Update - 2: We have a positive resident so for the next 2 weeks on Tuesday and Fridays all staff and residents will be tested regardless of vaccination status. The positive residents responsible party has been notified. We currently have 2 staff in quarantine.

This staff member has been furloughed. We have another staff member on quarantine. Testing will continue Tuesdays and Fridays at 9:00 am for all non-up to date staff. July 28,2022 Update: We have a positive COVID staff member who is now isolating. We were able to identify close contacts and those affected have been notified with a separate message. Non up to date staff will continue to test as prior testing schedule – with the next testing tomorrow morning at 9 am.
July 19, 2022 Update: Testing results today; we have 1 positive staff member who is considered isolated incident. Who had no contact with residents therefore no residents will need to be tested. That staff member is at home quarantined. Testing will continue to be Tuesdays and Fridays for non-up to date staff at 9:00 am. If you are not able to make it on at the designated time please make prior arrangements.

June 17, 2022 Update: All tests done for today’s testing event are negative. This means we are now out of outbreak status! Beginning next week only not up to date staff will be required to test and since the county remains red that will be twice a week. Testing dates for next week are Tuesday June 21 and Friday June 24 at 9 am. If you are unable to test at those times please be courteous and make other arrangements.
June 14, 2022 Update: Great news! All results from today’s testing event are negative! We are still in outbreak status and next testing is this Friday June 17th at 9 am for all staff and residents. June 9, 2022 Update: All residents and staff tested today are negative. We currently have no staff out on quarantine. We will continue our twice weekly outbreak testing for All staff and All residents through next week. Next test date is Tuesday June 14 at 9 am.
June 6, 2022 Update: The Morton County Transmission Rate shows we are in a low risk level. Due to being in Outbreak status through at least June 17 we will all need to be testing twice weekly. Testing is scheduled Tuesday June 7 and Friday June 10 at 9 am. Please arrive at that time and if unable to do so please call and make other arrangements. Due to having one additional staff member test positive over the weekend, we now have four staff out on quarantine. Thank you for you continued cooperation.

May 31, 2022 Update: The Morton County Community Transmission level has increased to Red or High-Risk. COVID testing for all not up-to-date and exempt staff continues to be twice weekly. This week we will test at 9:00 am on Tuesday May 31st and 9:00 am on Thursday June 2nd. Please note the change from Friday to Thursday for this week. Please take responsibility and make other arrangements to test if you are unable to make the 9:00 am time on either date. There will not be testing on Friday unless prior arrangements are made. May 23, 2022 Update: Attention Marian Manor staff: Morton county’s community transmission level is now at yellow or moderate risk. This means that not up to date staff will need to continue to COVID test twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays at 9 am for the next two weeks as per facility testing structure flowchart – through June 3. Exempt staff will continue to test twice a week as well. Please take responsibility to make other arrangements if you are unable to test on the scheduled date and time. Thank you!
May 19, 2022 Update: We are now allowing all visitors to self-screen for entry at the front door. You are required to take your temperature, answer the COVID questionnaire screening form, perform hand hygiene and apply mask prior to proceeding with your visit. Instructions are provided at the entryway by screening table. Please share this information with other family members and friends. Please continue to follow all precautions during your visit as your loved one’s safety and wellbeing is our number one goal. The front door will be unlocked starting today and moving forward will be open from the hours of 6 am to 9 pm. After these hours please call the nursing home for assistance to enter as the door will be locked overnight
May 16, 2022 Update: Attention Marian Manor staff Morton county’s community transmission level is now at orange or substantial risk. This means that not up to date staff will need to COVID test twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays at 9 am for the next two weeks. Exempt staff will continue to test twice a week as well. Please take responsibility to make other arrangements if you are unable to test on the scheduled date and time. Thank you!

March 17, 2022 Update: Due to the decrease in county positivity, the only staff that need to be tested tomorrow March 18th at 9:00 am will be unvaccinated staff. Next week Tuesday (3/22) will again be unvaccinated staff as well as other non-boosted staff at 9:00 AM! Thank you!

January 14, 2022 Update: All staff and residents were tested today regardless of vaccination status. The results are 2 positive staff who are at home quarantined. All residents were negative. Federal Regulations: November 5, 2021: The federal regulations for COVID-19 vaccination of all healthcare staff has been announced. All persons working in any healthcare setting that accepts Medicare or Medicaid will be required to have their first of a two dose vaccine series (Moderna or Pfizer) or their Johnson and Johnson dose by the deadline of December 5, 2021. The second dose is required by January 4, 2022. Medical and religious exemption requests NEED to be completed and turned in to your supervisor by November 19. These documents will be reviewed to determine if they meet the strict exemption requirements. They need to be well documented by your medical doctor or religious church leader. According to these regulations if vaccination or exemptions are not completed by December 5, you will not be able to work until the proper steps are taken

October 26, 2021 Update: With our testing today, all staff and residents were negative. With the negative test results today we currently have no staff at home in quarantine. Our next testing will be on Friday October 29 for staff only.

We are requesting that you call ahead and schedule your visitation appointments as we know it has been a while since you have been allowed into the resident rooms and we can only have ten visitors in the facility at a time. March 18, 2021 Update: All residents and staff are negative from our March 17th testing. We will have our regularly scheduled testing on Monday March 22nd at 8:30 AM.
March 16, 2021 Update: Due to one staff member testing positive, residents and staff will be tested tomorrow March 17th beginning at 8:30 AM. Staff working the afternoon shift should arrive for testing at 2:15 pm. March 15, 2021 Update: Marian Manor Families and staff: Per new CDC visitation guidance, residents that are fully vaccinated can chose to have close contact including touch with their visitor. Face masks and hand hygiene are still required. Age requirements have been lifted for visits outside and the detached garage known as the “family house.” Children two and older still need to wear face masks and up to two people can visit the resident in the “family house’. Appointments for all visitation are still required and are available Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 1pm to 4pm. Additional information will be provided as this new guidance continues to be reviewed by the ND Department of Health. Thank you.
March 11, 2021 Update 2: CMS has provided additional visitation guidance this week; however, this update is currently under review by the ND Department of Health. Due to our negative testing results since February 23rd, Marian Manor is currently offering indoor visitation using the large visitation room and the chapel. The next appointments available are on Tuesday March 16th. Regular appointment times are from 1pm to 4pm on Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday and Saturday and will remain in effect until we receive further clarification from the ND Department of health regarding the updated CMS guidance. Due to our negative testing there is a change from the last message earlier today, there will be no testing on Monday March 15th. Thank you.

We have not had a positive test since January 8th and our county is in green so we only need to have staff tested every 2 weeks. January 19, 2021 Update: OUTDOOR VISITATION
Effective this Wednesday January 20th, Marian Manor HealthCare Center will be providing visitation using the visitation shack which is a detached garage 120 feet from the building. Residents will be dressed warm for the winter weather to go outside to the visitation shack providing that the outside temperature is at least 20 degrees above with wind chill. All visitation guidance must continue to be followed including wearing a mask, maintaining six feet distance from resident and no food or snacks. A visit is 30 minutes and one to two visitors per resident is allowed. Please call 348-3107 to schedule an appointment. Appointments will be offered on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 1 pm to 4 pm.

January 18,2021 Update: There will be NO Binax rapid covid testing tomorrow. Our county is in yellow so with our last negative test we only need another test in 7 days which will be on Friday the 22nd with the health department nurses.
January 17, 2021 Update: All residents and All staff were negative with our Friday the 15th testing.
Visitation Update: This is a reminder that outside visits are still available as well as window visits and video chatting such as Facetime or Google Duo or Skype. Although indoor visits cannot be offered at this time, the visitation garage in the back-parking lot will be available for visits next week. The schedule for visitation continues to be Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 1 pm to 4 pm and by appointment only. Thank you for your continued support during this time.
Residents, staff and tenants at Marian Manor HealthCare Center and Marian Manor Estates received the COVID vaccine on December 31, 2020. A total of 65 individuals were vaccinated and are scheduled to receive the second dose on January 28th. We hope to have another group of staff and residents starting their series within the next couple of weeks. If you have questions about the vaccine, please watch the linked videos listed below for further information. On behalf of the Marian Manor HealthCare Center residents, tenants and staff, please consider getting vaccinated as it becomes available and diminishing the COVID threat to all of us.
January 9, 2021 Update: Test results from January 8th: We have one staff member positive. All other staff and all residents are negative. Our next testing will be next Friday the 15th.

December 14, 2020 update: The 24 pending results from the December 11th testing have all come back negative. We have one staff out from December 4th and one from December 11th. The Prior message of two staff from December 4th was incorrect, there was one staff positive and one resident. That resident is still in the hospital and we have a total of two staff out. The one staff from the 11-3 testing is now back.

November 11, 2020 Update: Per the latest update of CMS visitation guidelines, we can no longer have outside visits in the garage as the visitation space must be separate from the facility. We are looking at options to create a safe outdoor space during inclement weather. Window visits, phone calls and video conferencing are still available to communicate with the residents. In our last testing on September 29th, 2 staff members tested positive and all residents tested negative. The two staff members are currently at home in quarantine. September 24, 2020 Udate: From the COVID testing on September 22nd, two staff and one resident tested positive. Many of the residents are doing better although we do have some who are hospitalized. Thank you again for your thoughts and prayers.
September 20, 2020 Update: – On September 9th, Arrowhead Cleaners did an overall cleaning and disinfecting of frequently used surfaces throughout the HealthCare Center and the Estates. Also on the 9th, the North Dakota Department of Health completed an unannounced COVID-19 Focused Survey to determine if our facility was in compliance with Federal requirements related to implementing proper infection prevention and control practices to prevent the development and transmission of COVID-19. The survey revealed that Marian Manor HealthCare Center was in substantial compliance with participation requirements and no deficiencies were cited.

September 9, 2020 Update: Due to the number of cases in the August 24th testing, residents were again tested on August 28th. In this testing, five residents tested positive with two with symptoms and three with no symptoms. Two of these residents were hospitalized. The regular serial testing was completed on September 1st for residents and staff. Twelve residents and 13 employees results were positive. Residents were quarantined in the facility’s COVID unit and staff were sent home to begin their quarantine. Positive residents and their families have been notified. Residents and staff were tested again today. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers during this challenging time.
August 26, 2020 Update: As a result of testing on Monday, August 24, eight residents and two staff members tested positive for COVID-19. Three tests are still pending. All families of the residents have been notified. Staff are currently in quarantine at their home. Residents who tested positive are being transferred to hospitals within the area. Residents who tested negative will be retested on Friday, August 28th. Visitation will be either window visits, phone calls, Face Time or video conferencing. No outside visits until further notice. We are in communication with the ND Health Department and are following their guidance and recommendations to deal with this situation. August 21, 2020 Update: The staff and residents were tested on August 11th and August 17th. Due to a new lab testing company and process, we only received our final results on August 17th. There was one resident and one staff member who tested positive for COVID-19. All other staff and residents were negative. The positive staff member, resident and resident’s family were notified. After our most recent COVID testing on August 17th, two residents tested positive and they and their families have been contacted. All other residents and all staff were negative. Our next testing will be on Monday, August 24th.
August 10,2020 Update: In the last serial testing on August 4th, two residents and four staff members tested positive for COVID-19 with no symptoms. The two residents were sent to the hospital and the staff members were sent home. The responsible parties of the two residents have been notified. Due to the positive tests, residents and staff will be tested tomorrow, Tuesday August 11th.
Also on August 11th, outdoor visits will again be allowed by appointment only in addition to window visits, phone calls and video calls such as Facetime. Visitors and residents must wear a mask, maintain social distancing of six feet, perform proper hand hygiene and be screened. July 24, 2020 Update: In our COVID testing completed on July 21st, one resident and one staff member tested positive with no symptoms. The resident has been sent to the hospital and the staff member is at home. Until further notice, visitation will be limited to window visits, phone calls and video conferencing such as FaceTime or Zoom. Window and Video conferencing visits are by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, call 348-3107 Monday through Thursday from 8:00 to 4:00 and ask for Michelle. We will be tested weekly until all residents and staff test negative. The visitation policy will be reevaluated after the next two testings. It has been a wonderful time welcoming families back into the facility, but for now, we need to limit visitation in consideration of the health, safety and well-being of our residents.
July 9, 2020 Update: All residents and staff COVID tests conducted on July 6th were negative. Unfortunately, Morton County currently has a high level of positive COVID cases so we are unable to move into Phase 3 of the reopening process. We will continue visitation at the current Phase 2 level which is great news. Residents can still have one visitor at a time in the resident’s room or designated visitation room by appointment only from 1 pm to 4 pm. Please call to schedule appointments Monday through Thursday during regular business hours. This also includes outside visits, window visits and Face Time visits. We will continue to be tested every two weeks until the COVID concerns are over or near an end with the next testing scheduled for July 21. The facility’s staff continues to keep up the good infection control practices with the priority to keep our residents safe and healthy.

As of today, Marian Manor HealthCare Center is at Phase 2 of the State VP3 plan due to all residents testing negative for COVID. Residents are now allowed one visitor at a time in the resident’s room or designated visitation room by appointment only from 1 pm to 4 pm. Please call to schedule appointments Monday through Thursday during regular business hours. Appointments will be scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Visiting timeframes will be limited to accommodate the number of requests. Spouses are allowed to have extended visiting hours beginning at 9 am until 4 pm and reviewed on a case by case basis. Supervised outdoor visits, window visits and Face Time visits are still available and must be scheduled in advanced. We are unable to allow drop-in visits at this time. All weekend visits must be scheduled by Thursday afternoon.
In future testing, if any resident has a positive COVID test, visitation again may be limited per state requirements. It is important that these instructions are followed to allow our residents time to spend with their loved ones and keep everyone safe. Please review our website for additional information which will be posted soon. A letter is also being sent to the residents’ authorized responsible party. June 25, 2020 Update: We have received the results from the June 23rd round of COVID-19 tests. ALL Residents and staff are negative. We will remain in Phase I until we get approval from the state to move into Phase II. (For detailed information on the phases see the Family Letter by clicking on the button above.) May 29, 2020 Update: Today, Marian Manor Healthcare Center is excited to welcome the North Dakota Air National Guard. They will be working side by side with staff to deep clean our facility. They are providing high level industrial disinfecting resources to several nursing homes around the state as a service to Residents and staff. This does not replace the great cleaning services we currently provide on a daily basis, but supplements our fight against COVID-19.

May 21, 2020 Update: As a result of the second COVID 19 testing held May 20, 2020, we have been informed that seven residents and five staff members are COVID positive. None of these individuals have any COVID related symptoms. All families of the residents have been notified. The ND Department of Health conducted a COVID-19 Focused Survey this afternoon. The survey revealed that our facility was in substantial compliance and no deficiencies were cited.

This testing is vital to make sure everyone is healthy and to continue to keep our facility COVID-free. If any staff would be found to be asymptomatic with a positive COVID test, the following steps are in place and are in addition to other current infection prevention measures. Residents who can tolerate a mask are wearing them if they need to leave their room. All activities are provided in resident rooms or in the hallways. With community businesses opening, we are encouraging staff to continue to make smart decisions by avoiding crowds, maintaining safe distancing and frequent hand hygiene. Families and loved ones are reminded to call Michelle our Social Worker at 701-348-3107 to schedule a visit with a resident by phone, Face time, Skype or even to visit through a window. On April 22, kids from the Doll House Daycare also stopped by to decorate the sidewalk with chalk entertaining the residents as they looked out the activity windows.

April 7, 2020 Update:
Governor Burgum suspended visitation to long-term care facilities, including skilled nursing facilities and basic care facilities, except in cases of end-of-life or compassionate care circumstances such as medical and emotional care for patients with terminal diseases, including hospice care. All non-essential personnel and volunteers are restricted from long-care facilities until further notice. To comply with the Government extension of restrictions to the end of April, all of the above will remain in effect at Marian Manor Healthcare Center.
March 17, 2020 Update:
In the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) memo sent on March 13, 2020 , the Guidance for Infection Control and Prevention of Coronavirus Disease was revised to “restrict visitation of all visitors and non-essential health care personnel except for certain compassionate care situations such as an end-of –life situation.” Marian Manor HealthCare Center is offering alternative means of communication for people who would otherwise visit , such as phone, video-communication, face time etc. Please contact our social worker for further details.
Governor Burgum suspended visitation to long-term care facilities, including skilled nursing facilities and basic care facilities, except in cases of end-of-life or compassionate care circumstances such as medical and emotional care for patients with terminal diseases, including hospice care. All non-essential personnel and volunteers are restricted from long-care facilities until further notice.
