Who We Are

Marian Manor Healthcare Center is a 51-bed, not-for-profit skilled nursing home facility in Glen Ullin, North Dakota. We strive to maintain an environment that accommodates the various levels of care needed by each individual and so our staff receives extensive training to address a diverse range of care needs for our residents. We believe in maximizing the quality of life of all who live here.

Sandy Gerving
Administrator

  • Sandy’s qualifications comprise a BS degree in Business Administration/Accounting, an MPA degree in Public Administration, and an extensive 30 year tenure in healthcare, with 11 years specifically focused on long-term care.

  • She loves spending time with family, scrapbooking, camping and playing piano.
Emily Dakken

Emily Dakken
Director of Nursing

  • Emily holds a BS in Nursing and has been with Marian Manor for 28 years. Starting as a CNA, she persevered her way up from LPN to RN. Before landing her current position as Director of Nursing, Emily worked in various roles such as charge nurse, Resident Care Coordinator, MDS nurse, and even as a CNA Class Instructor. She also volunteers as an EMT with the Hebron Ambulance.
  • Emily loves family time, spending quiet time reading and gardening, and enjoys tuning into a good podcast.
Emily Schneider

Emily Schneider
Assistant Director of Nursing

  • With a BS in Nursing, Emily has gained valuable experience in her nursing career, holding positions such as a CNA, Charge Nurse, CNA Class Instructor, Resident Care Coordinator/MDS Nurse, and currently serving as the Assistant Director of Nursing, Infection Control and Quality Nurse.
  • Emily is a proud sports mom, Trivia lover, and Netflix series enthusiast
Lori Kottre

Lori Kottre
Office Manager

  • Initially employed as a CNA at Marian Manor, Lori subsequently transitioned to the position of Ward Clerk, overseeing scheduling and purchasing. Following that, she transitioned into the role of Housekeeping/Laundry Supervisor, and currently fulfilling the position of Office Manager.
  • Loves her grandkids, Harley rides, and volunteering as EMT for our community.

Andrew Cotant
Housekeeping & Laundry Supervisor

  • Andrew’s educational background comprises a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, alongside Associate’s degrees in General Studies and Arts. In addition, he possesses 4 years of experience in ID/DD care and another 6 years in senior care.
  • Not only is Andrew a Military Vet, but he is also an avid supporter of the Detroit Lions and enjoys spending time with his family.
Deb Wanner

Debra Wanner
Activity Director

  • Debra’s educational background includes a BS in Child Development Family Relations, accompanied by minors in Music, Sociology, and Gerontology. With over 35 years of experience, she serves as Marian Manor’s compasionate Activity Director.
  • Debra enjoys family time, camping, and boating in the Great Outdoors. Also, a big lover of games of all kinds.
Paulette Schirado

Paulette Schirado
Certified Dietary Manager

  • Having dedicated 30 years to serving as a Dietary Aid, Paulette’s expertise in the field is unparalleled. She has honed her skills as a Certified Dietary Manager for 8 years, making her a highly qualified professional.
  • Paulette enjoys spending time with family, relaxing at the lake cabin, and loves tending to her flowers.
Michelle Slaughter

Michelle Slaughter
Social Worker

  • Michelle has accumulated 22 years of experience as a Licensed Bachelor Social Worker (LBSW). She has a background in child welfare social work before taking on her current social work position at Marian Manor. She has been at the facility for nearly 12 years.
  • Michelle enjoys spending time with her 3 grandchildren, camping, and traveling — especially to her property in Alabama and visiting family in California.
Sara Farrell

Sara Farrell
Rehab Services Director

  • With a Doctorate in Physical Therapy, Sara brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her work at Marian Manor HealthCare Center.
  • At her family’s farmstead, Sara proudly carries on as the sixth generation to live there.
